Wicked Weekend

So this weekend was great because it was a long weekend for MLK day, so I was able to spend all weekend hanging out with Phil. Most people went home for the weekend, except a for a few of us who are further away than most. Friday night I went to a presentation on campus with Phil so that he could get extra credit for three of his classes. It was good. It was some comedy thing that had to do with race relations and such things. On Saturday we were at the library all day and spent part of the evening at the old institute building with the few people who were in Muncie over the weekend playing games and such. Later on in the evening we went to Late Nite to get free food and make some crafts. We made some homemade ice cream in a sandwich bag, and made this giant 3-d stars to hang up. On Sunday I had church, which didn't start until eleven because our ward switched for the New Year. I don't really like the change because it is right during lunch time! In the evening we had Mike and Amy Gebs over to Phil's house for dinner and some games. Finally we reach Monday, classes weren't meeting today because of the holiday so we studied together some in the morning then we went to a service project at Second Harvest Food Bank. There we switched potatoes from a fifty pound bag into smaller ones so that they would be more suitable for families to eat and not rot. Right after that I ran into Old Navy and picked up some new clothes with a gift card that I got for Christmas last year. (Thanks Aunt Kate!!) I am going to make some dinner right now. Then it is off to Family Home Evening with all the gang!

New Year, New Semester

This is the first week of the new semester. I have now been to all of the classes that I will have for the remainder of the academic year. I have lots of interesting classes. I am taking Latin, Public Speaking, Geography, History, Biology, and an Elementary Education class. They all seem to be going well so far at least, but no one has assigned any projects yet, so maybe that is it. It is great to be down at school again. I have had a chance to see all of my friends from church and from my dorm. It has been wonderful to see everyone and get caught up with what they are up to and how their breaks went. It is especially great to see Phil on a regular basis again. We have been hanging and doing stuff with Jared and Emily. So as you can tell life is great down here in Muncie!
I hope that yours is going just as well, if not better!

Winter Break Fun

Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! Sorry I am a little behind but I didn't think that it was too important to update the blog because the few people who read it saw me during the first part of break, but now things have been a tad bit crazy.
First I went down to Muncie to meet up with Phil so that we could drive over to Nauvoo for a friend's wedding, which went really well. We stayed with the groom's family the night before the wedding because they had extra rooms for us in their hotel. Then on the day of the wedding Phil and I walked to the Visitor Center in about four to six inches of snow, only to discover that all of the historic Nauvoo buildings were closed because of the weather. After the wedding we started the long drive back to Muncie and got there really late. On Saturday we continued our trek to Batesville to visit his family. We did some stuff around town on Saturday and then on Sunday I went to church with his family and met some of the people from his ward. On Monday morning we went flying with Phil's dad. It was super duper fun and Amazing! Then we took the long drive up to Warsaw that evening to spend the New Year with the family playing dominoes and the usual New Year's Eve activities. New Year's Day we went on a walk and later on in the afternoon went to Grandma Lich's for Christmas with the family. In the evening Phil and I left for Muncie so that he could get back to Batesville before it was too late, but instead we both got stuck in Muncie because the roads were really bad because of the snow and wind. I stayed with Michael and Amy Gebs and Phil just stayed at his house in town. Then we met up in the morning and kicked around town for a bit and headed our separate ways.
So as you can tell it has been an exciting and wonderful Christmas break. I can't wait to get back down to Muncie to see all of my friends and such. I am not too excited for classes to start again but my social life has had enough of a break so far!
Hope all is well!
